Happy Fall. Happy Autumn. I love this time of year. Getting ready for the holidays and family gatherings. Trying to get some fun play-along and sing-along songs ready to share. Stepping on crunchy fallen leaves. Love it all. Love the fall. We will be planning our holiday specials, too! Taking a week off for a special occasion this month. In the meantime, here is a throwback video starring Doris Day and Arthur Godfrey. Arthur Godfrey was quite the 'ukulele enthusiast and promoter (in case you didn't know). WOW! We are overwhelmed, overjoyed, over the [Kailua] moon!
Our kanikapila was not only sold out, but it was even more fun that we imagined. Talk about the ALOHA SPIRIT! You know how to make it happen. The assistance from our friends to help make this happen is priceless. The array of food...well, that alone could have filled a room (kind of did, actually)! You are all awesome!. Beautiful music, beautiful hula dancers, beautiful flowers, beautiful aloha throughout. The "feeling" and the musical experience of that night actually helped one couple in attendance make an important decision. They were trying to decide between Costa Rica and Hawaii as a destination for their 40th wedding anniversary trip. Because of the music, the dancing, the stories, the kind people, and the Aloha that they experienced, they said the decision was made then and there: Hawaii! I loved this story so much that I got permission to share it. Jeff and Lorraine, we all wish you a great 4oth year and want to hear all about your visit to Hawaii. Maybe you'll even get a chance to see Kailua Moon while you are there! We will be attending the Los Angeles International Ukulele Festival on Saturday, September 30th. Click on the button below for more information. Our store will be closed Saturday for the festival as well as our normal Sunday and Monday. We are taking one additional day off, Tuesday, Oct 3rd. We will resume normal business hours on Wednesday, October 4th. Again, THANK YOU, MAHALO NUI LOA to all of you. |
