Dear Anacapa Ukulele Friends and Customers,
With deep concern for the health and well-being of our customers, all of our families, and our community, we at Anacapa Ukulele have decided that it is in everyone’s best interest for us to take precautions and follow the recommendations of our local public health officials for “social distancing” as this COVID-19 pandemic evolves.
We have been “playing it by ear” so-to-speak as the details have been unfolding and as much as we don’t want to disappoint anyone, we have decided that as of closing time (5 pm) on Saturday, March 14th, we will temporarily close our doors. This closure will include any previously scheduled group lessons/classes and everyone who has pre-paid will be contacted to make other arrangements.
Our business is rooted in our goal to have people come in and touch, feel, play, and try several ukuleles while selecting the best fit, or selecting the right strings, and we hope that we can soon open our doors to provide you with this excellent and personal service again soon.
Please do not hesitate to call us or email us if there is a specific item that you are in need of during our “closed” time and we will do our best to work with you on a “by appointment” basis (so long as you are not ill).
We hope to reopen for “business as usual” sometime in early April, but we can’t say exactly when that will be. We will post an update here and on our Facebook page by the end of this month and as needed beyond that.
We really do appreciate your business, and this has been a difficult decision to make, but everyone’s health and safety are our highest priorities. (Lloyd and I both come from a long background in the [emergency] medical field and have worked closely with disaster preparedness and care and our “Spidey-senses” have been triggered.)
On a lighter note, remember-you still have today (Friday) from 11 am to 5 pm, and Saturday from 10 am to 5pm to shop. Come in to see our fantastic (and large) selection of new books and ukuleles. We hope that you are feeling great. Stockpile some music books just in case! (Much more fun than what everyone else is stockpiling!)
Remember that the ukulele can bring smiles under many conditions and can calm you and those around you! Who knows, maybe we (and maybe you) can post some cool videos of us/you playing some cool stuff!
Above all, wash your hands and stay safe and healthy for yourself, for those you love and for those that you may never meet! Let’s beat this thing together.
Aloha,
Lloyd and Lisa Wyckoff
