****POST UPDATED APRIL 12th:  Changes are in GREEN and BOLD

Anacapa Zuumulele Sessions (#2)
Thursday, April 16 at 7 pm

We hope to see you!  Our first one was fun and we think we have ironed out a few of the glitches (we will see).  Our goal is to bring our ukulele community virtually together for some fun playing and to "see" each other during this "different" time in our lives

We want this to be fun and we want as much participation as can be had in the virtual platform, and we appreciate your learning these ropes along with us!

Due to the recent Zoom security concerns, we understand if you are hesitant to join; however we have taken steps to try to prevent our meeting ID from getting out into the general public. We are pretty sure no one would be very interested in disrupting our little group, but we want to err on the side of caution anyway.  And while we can't guarantee that "bombers" won't be able to sneak in, we are doing our best to proactively protect ourselves. We highly encourage you to read our MEETING BASICS  below and let us know if you have any questions, suggestions or other concerns.

SONGS (updated 4/12/20)
  • On the Monday before the session, we will have a link below that will take you to Hightail, a document sharing platform where you can view and/or download the song sheets for the session (be advised that the link will become inactive after the meeting). See the modification below.
  • Do you have a song you want to share and/or lead?  If so, we ask that you submit it before 7 pm the Sunday before the session so that we can include it in the shared file, and that you have Pre-Registered (see MEETING BASICS below) before submitting your song.
  • Only REGISTERED guests (see Meeting Basics below) will be given the link to the songs for the upcoming session.  The link will be in the registration confirmation email that you will receive after registration.

MEETING BASICS (updated 4/20/2020)
  • The meeting/registration link below will be active by Sunday before the Session
  • PRE-REGISTRATION will be required (just follow the prompts when you click the link)
  • You will receive a registration confirmation which will include meeting information
  • Registration requires your email address which we do not save nor share.  It is not part of our mailing list (which you can sign up for via our website pop-up if you wish)
  • Registration does not obligate you to attend...but it is the only way you will be allowed.  We understand that "things" come up.
  • As with our first Zuumulele Session, we will not post the meeting ID on Facebook or here
  • We will enable a "Waiting Room" so we ("the host") will permit entry only to registrants
  • We will open the meeting approximately 10 minutes before the hour
  • We will LOCK the meeting to any new participants, including to those Pre-Registered, at 10 minutes after the hour.  So that gives you a 20-minute window during which to log in
  • Screen sharing, by default, will only be allowed by the host
  • We will "mute" all participants except the host or song leader during most of the session (it is just not a good platform for multiple conversations to be going on at once due to delays, etc)
  • You have ultimate control over your microphone and video, meaning that the host will not (and cannot) turn your video on if you have set it "off" nor "unmute" you if you have muted yourself, so please verify your settings when you join the meeting
  • If you have your video and microphone "On" then the host can (and will) mute and unmute you as is appropriate during the session.
  • If by chance anyone is able to sneak in and manages to share any inappropriate content, they will be immediately removed by the host (we have taken several precautions to try to prevent any unwanted "guests,", but cannot offer any guarantees).
  • We will do our best to periodically look at the "Chat" and "Q and A" sections during the event.
  • Please use the "Raise your hand" function if you need to get our attention during the session

Whew, that sounds so "formal" and rigid....so sorry, but we just want to ensure you of the steps we are taking to make this an enjoyable experience for everyone.

Hope to see you!
